Scott F. Heron, Ph. D., is Physical Oceanographer with NOAA Coral Reef Watch and James Cook University, based in Townsville, Australia. His research has focused on coastal and near-shore environmental physics through satellite, coastal and in-water remote sensing; hydrodynamic modelling; and oceanographic and estuarine field studies. Of key interest is the synthesis of physical data with biological and/or chemical information to improve understanding of ecosystem impacts.
