Sheila Dow is Professor of Economics at the University of Stirling in Scotland and monetary policy advisor to the UK Treasury Select Committee.

Her research interests include economic methodology: open systems; pluralism, the history of economic thought; the theory of money and banking and monetary policy - structural endogenous money theory; policy-making under uncertainty; banking in transition economies; and regional and international finance - the regional impact of monetary policy.
