Shelley MacDermid Wadsworth

Distinguished Professor of Human Development and Family Studies, Purdue University

I direct the Center for Families and the Military Family Research Institute at Purdue University. I have spent the last 20 years studying both military and civilian families as they experience stress and transition. I have published over 100 peer-reviewed articles and edited 5 books. I am a fellow of the National Council on Family Relations. I have received campus, national, and international recognition for my research and engagement. Currently, I am coordinating an effort by a large group of scientists to rapidly create and deploy an online community aimed at helping families to cope with the pandemic and build their resilience while they do so. The effort is titled 'Families Tackling Tough Times Together.'
