Research Assistant Professor, Department of Health Management and Policy, University of Michigan

Dr. Shih has a diverse background in public health, business administration, risk management and insurance, and actuarial science. Her research has focused on maternal and child health, health literacy, and design, implementation, and evaluation of theory-based health programs. A special interest of hers is in designing effective strategies to align public health, social services, and healthcare systems to deliver family-centered and integrated care for vulnerable populations. She co-led a nation-wide program in Taiwan to promote vision health, dental health, nutrition literacy, physical activity, and health insurance literacy in schools. She has been a consultant to schools and local governments in designing, implementing, and evaluating health promotion programs for years.
