Sidey holds an MA in Political Science from the University of Guelph, in which she focussed on the implementation of modern treaties in the Yukon Territory. Sidey has 3 years experience working with First Nations in Yukon and is currently co-investigator on a project funded by SSHRC and the Modern Treaty Implementation Research Project, for which she and the First Nation of Na-Cho Nyak Dun (NND) are examining the implementation of economic development measures within the NND's final agreement. Additionally, Sidey is working as a Research Associate for the University of Regina and University of Guelph, assisting with a critical discourse analysis of the media and House of Commons framing of the Independent Assessment Process
