Simge Andı is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism. She works on the Digital News Project, and uses survey and experimental data to study the consumption and sharing of online news.

Before coming to Oxford, Simge was a research and teaching assistant at the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Koç University in Istanbul. She completed her PhD dissertation in Fall 2019. In her thesis, she studied online misinformation, mainly focusing on the sharing of false information on social media. She has experience conducting quantitative research, survey and experimental design, as well as content and network analysis. Simge was a visiting researcher at the University of Essex between September and May 2019, and at Nuffield College, Oxford, between June and October 2019.

Before her doctoral studies, Simge has held several occupations, including posts in humanitarian aid, communications, and consultancy. She holds a Master’s degree in European Studies (King’s College London) and a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations (Koç University).
