Drawing on questions originally posited by existential philosophy, my research focuses on the consequences of a fundamental aspect of the human condition: awareness of one’s mortality. Utilising the conceptual framework of terror management theory, my work examines how the pursuit of self-esteem and cultural value engendered by death awareness impacts attitudes and behaviours in a variety of domains including: health, economics, product endorsement efficacy, and self-representations.
