Stefano Panebianco

Nuclear and particle physicist, I work at the French Commissariat à l'Energie Atomique et aux Energies Alternatives (CEA, Paris-Saclay University) in the Nuclear Physics Department. I've worked for almost ten years on the study of the nuclear fission process from the very fundamental point of view, both via experimental measurements and theoretical modelling. Since 6 years I work at CERN in the ALICE experiment of the LHC as project leader of a new silicon pixel detector for muon spectrometry and I am active on the physics of the quark gluon plasma (QGP) in heavy ion collisions.

I've been in charge of experimental physics courses for the NPAC Master in fundamental physics at Paris-Saclay University and in several teaching activities. I'm also very much involved within the French Physics Society (SFP) as former president of the Nuclear physics division and presently chair of the Editorial Board of the SFP journal "Reflets de la Physique".
