Stephanie Marie Young

Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing, West Virginia University

Dr. Young has been a clinical instructor in the West Virginia University School of Nursing since 2015. In addition to teaching undergraduate nursing students in various settings, including Community Health, Stephanie is a faculty facilitator in the Inter-Professional Education Department, working with students and faculty throughout the Health Sciences with the goal of increasing patient safety by improving communication among healthcare providers. Dr. Young also has a faculty practice assignment as a faith community nurse working to improve health outcomes in faith communities in West Virginia. She was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau, International Honor Society for Nursing, and is a member of several professional organizations. Her research includes palliative care coaching of patient and family caregiver dyads and the impact of spirituality on caregiver burden and quality of life. She is currently working on exploring the economic impact of faith community nursing.
