Following a career as a teacher, I was appointed temporary Lecturer in Politics at Cardiff University in 2004, and became Lecturer in Comparative Politics two years later. I became Senior Lecturer in 2012, and have been Programme Director for Politics since 2013.
My research tends to focus on British political history during the 1960 and 1970s, my latest book being Demolishing Whitehall: Leslie Martin, Harold Wilson and the Architecture of White Heat (with Adam Sharr of Newcastle University). This received commendation during the RIBA President’s Awards for Research in 2014. I also write about issues concerning learning and teaching in Politics.
