For the past twenty years Stuart Blanch has worked in the environment movement, in government, and as an ecologist.
He comes from a farming family, researched the ecology of the River Murray for his doctoral thesis, and has a Masters in Environmental Law.
He was a Director of the federal research corporation Land and Water Australia, was a member of the federal government’s Northern Australia Land and Water Taskforce, is Deputy Chair of Territory Natural Resource Management, and is a member of the Territory Government’s Green Energy Taskforce.
He lives in Darwin with his family, where he is the Director of the Environment Centre NT, the peak community sector environment organisation for the Northern Territory.
