Assoc Prof Suellen Shay has been working in the Centre for Higher Education Development (previously Academic Development Programme) since 1989. Her work has spanned teaching English for Academic Purposes in ADP (1989-1993), co-ordinating UCT's Writing Centre (1993-1997) to more recently staff and institutional development work through HAESDU. She is currently Dean in CHED and convenes the Higher Education Studies programme. Her research interest since her PhD work have been on using sociological perspectives to critique assessment in higher education.
