Sumaiyah Docrat is a health economist at the Alan J. Flisher Centre for Public Mental Health, University of Cape Town. She holds an MPH from the University of Cape Town, specializing in Health Economics. Her work includes the generation of economic evidence to support investments in mental health systems in low- and middle-income countries across Africa, South America and Asia. Sumaiyah is currently finalizing a PhD focusing on economic costs, impacts and financing strategies for mental health in South Africa.
