Tainã Gonçalves Loureiro

Post-doctoral Research Fellow, Stellenbosch University

Tainã is a GOAP Africa Community of Practice member and is currently a Research Fellow at the Centre for Sustainable Oceans (Cape Peninsula University of Technology, South Africa). Tainã's research focuses on aquatic ecology, drivers of change in marine ecosystems such as climate change, invasive species and resource use, and ocean governance to tackle challenges in achieving ocean sustainable development. Her scientific endeavours keep an eye on the UN’s 2030 Agenda, and she supports equitable partnerships in science as an epistemological perspective to provoke societal change, combining the conservation of natural environments with sustainable development.
