Tanja is an Aboriginal Australian woman and identifies as Jaru and Bunuba through her Mother who was born in Alice Springs. Her Grandmother is from the Barkly Tablelands region and Tanja's Great Grandparents are from WA. Tanja's father is from Finland. Tanja grew up in Mt Isa with family. Although Tanja is from QLD, she has previously lived in Darwin and is familiar with Darwin and surrounding areas. Tanja has lived in Mount Isa, Normanton and on cattle properties within the Gulf of Carpentaria.

Tanja is a registered Clinical Psychologist currently based in Darwin, Northern Territory. Tanja is currently going through her last six months of endorsement in clinical psychology - clinical psychologist registrar. The psychology journey has taken over 10 years.

Tanja has seven years of practical psychological work experience. Tanja has worked for AMSANT and The Centre for Remote Health and privately as a registered psychologist. Tanja is passionate about working in an evidence based and culturally sound ways to make a difference to the health and wellbeing of people. Tanja's approach incorporates cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), mindfulness skills and ways of working that are culturally sound and safe when working with people.
