Tareena Musaddiq is an Institute of Education Sciences postdoctoral fellow with the Education Policy Initiative at the University of Michigan's Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy. Her research interests are in economics of education and health economics. In her work she uses both experimental and quasi-experimental approaches to answer questions related to education and health outcomes of children in K-12 schools. Some examples of her recent work include utilizing existing communication platforms to improve student attendance and evaluating the impact of school meal provision on child health and school attendance.
Tareena is also interested in studying education in developing countries. Some of her work looks at the long run and intergenerational effects of primary and secondary schooling for girls in developing countries. Tareena holds a Ph.D. in economics from Georgia State University, an M.S. in Finance and Economics from University of Warwick; and a B.S., with honors, in economics from Lahore University of Management Sciences, Pakistan. She has previously worked as a graduate research assistant at Georgia Policy Labs. Prior to starting her Ph.D., Tareena taught undergraduate courses in economics as a teaching fellow in Pakistan.
