I am a conservation geneticist who is interested in how enduring processes of time, climate, and adaptation have shaped the evolution of species; my primary research focus for over 20 years has been the desert tortoise. I received both my Masters and Doctorate degrees in Wildlife and Fisheries Conservation and Management from the School of Natural Resources and the Environment at the University of Arizona. I am employed as an Associate Staff Scientist at the University of Arizona Genetics Core where I have been involved in a variety of genetic projects from fish to plants to people. I am currently a Clinical Development Scientist and the Clinical Laboratory Manager at the UAGC.
