Tendesayi Kufa-Chakezha

Epidemiologist and Public Health Specialist, National Institute for Communicable Diseases

Tendesayi is a Senior Epidemiologist at the National Institute of Communicable Diseases’ Centre for HIV and STIs. A medical doctor by training, she holds a Master’s in Public Health (major in Epidemiology) from the University of California at Berkeley and a PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Amsterdam. Over the past 16 years, she has held different positions in HIV prevention, care and treatment programmes, academia and research. Her main research interests are in the prevention of HIV, STIs and HIV associated TB.
