Leverhulme Early Career Research Fellow, UCL Institute of the Americas, UCL

Prior to coming to UCL, Thomas Grisaffi taught at the London School of Economics and was a Postdoctoral fellow on the SSRC/Open Society Foundation’s Drugs, Security and Democracy program. He studied for a PhD in Social Anthropology at the University of Manchester.

His main research focus is the political ascent of the Chapare coca growers union in Bolivia. His thematic interests include democracy, citizenship, the illegal cocaine trade, social movements and community radio.

Thomas is a Research Fellow at the Andean Information Network.
