PhD Candidate in Applied Mathematics, Cardiff University

Timothy Ostler is a postgraduate research student at Cardiff university, working with Dr Katerina Kaouri, Dr Thomas Woolley, Professor Karl Swan and the Cardiff branch of the London Women's Clinic, with industrial supervision from laboratory manager Andrew Thomson. Following a mathematics degree based primarily in applied topics, he is now pursuing research in mathematical biology, addressing a number of clinical issues in IVF.

In addition to research, he also participates in outreach and teaching of mathematics, most notably acting as a mathematics tutor for the Cardiff "Step up to university" program which provides free university-style teaching for students, aged 16-18, from backgrounds under-represented at university.
