Associate Professor of Mathematics Education, York University, Canada

I have a doctoral degree in both mathematics and education (meaning that parts of my dissertation were published in mathematics journals and others in mathematics education journals).

My current research takes place in school mathematics classrooms and with parents. I have research grants which allow me to investigate how to improve mathematics learning and communicate our finding with parents. I actually co-teach and co-plan lessons with school teachers. My research is very collaborative.

My key areas of research include:
Mathematics education at all levels (K-12 and university)
Teacher education
Math anxiety
Mathematics assessment
Connecting home and school learning of mathematics
'New math'
Professional learning for mathematics teachers
