PhD Candidate in History of Mathematics, The Open University

I am a postgraduate research student in History of Mathematics at The Open University in the UK. Graduating in 1982 from the University of Wales Institute of Science and Technology, Cardiff, with a BEng(Tech) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and after completing a Commission with the Royal Air Force, I joined Virgin Atlantic Airways as a pilot in 1999, recently retiring as a Captain to concentrate my academic interests. I finished an MSc in Applied Mathematics with the OU in 2014, and am currently researching into the development and dissemination of mathematics associated with the birth of fixed-wing aeronautics in Britain in the early 1900s.
