After working as a solicitor in commercial litigation for seven years, Trish joined Massey University as a lecturer. She completed a Master of Commercial Law with Honours at the University of Auckland in 1999 and completed a PhD at the University of Auckland in 2017. Trish teaches in the areas of commercial and company law.

Trish’s areas of research include consumer law, intellectual property, employment law and corporate distress. She has been admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand.
