Valérie Andrieu

Assistant professor in palaeoecology, Aix-Marseille Université (AMU)

I teach palaeoecology, palaeoclimatology and palaeoenvironment for 22 years at Aix-Marseille University. I have a long record of scientific achievements and projects management (171 per-reviewed articles, 85 research projects (19 as leader), cf. my website: (https://www.imbe.fr/valerie-andrieu-ponel.html)) and over the past five years has been dedicated to working on hominin environments spanning the last 2 Ma in the Mediterranean basin, using multiple resources available in IMBE (ecological and biological proxies) and CEREGE (geophysical and geochemical proxies). She is also leader of the international Acıgöl consortium that she was able to set up thanks to the ANR MRSEI funding. I have recently publish an article with my consortium in Scientific Reports (Nature) showing that cereals were present in the mediterranean ecosystems since 2.3 Ma.
