After a Bachelor Degree in “Media Studies” in Bologna (2005) and a
Master’s Degree in “Intercultural Communication” in Naples (2009),
Viola Sarnelli earned a Phd in “Cultural and Postcolonial Studies” at “L’Orientale” University, Naples (2013), with a thesis on the news channel Al Jazeera English. Between 2014 and 2015 she spent six months in Algeria as a post-doctoral researcher, with a EU funded scholarship. Today Viola is part of ArabTrans project (http://www.arabtrans.eu/) investigating political and social changes in 7 Arab countries after the 2011 Uprisings.
