I have taken systematic and interdisciplinary academic training in Human Geography, Urban Studies and Economics at BSc through to PhD level. I completed my PhD in Urban Studies at the University of Glasgow and gained my Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Human Geography and Bachelor’s degrees in Economics at Peking University.
I have proven expertise and interests in the fields of urban and rural developement, environmental governance, social learning and knowledge exchange with a special focus on China. I have published over ten papers in English and Chinese journals on a range of topics. I am currently working as a research associate on the MIDST-CZ project, a NERC-Newton funded research project. I am responsible for social science reserach around social learning and knowledge exchange between farmers, agricultral entities and public sectors regarding farming practice and environmental protection. My work aids the environmental scientists on the project in maximising the impacts of scientific findings and co-developing agricultural decision support tools to improve social-ecological resilience in rural China.
