Research Fellow, Department of Divinity, History, Philosophy & Art History, University of Aberdeen

I began specialising in late medieval history in the latter part of my undergraduate degree in History at the University of Glasgow and thereafter focussed on the royal court in Scotland during this period for my MLitt and PhD, also at Glasgow.

After my PhD I moved to Aberdeen to work on urban history, with a focus on the UNESCO-recognised records of medieval Aberdeen. This has included work on two major funded collaborative projects as well as funded solo research projects.

I have a keen interest in public engagement with historical research and currently I am working with Dr Jackson Armstrong on a project to crowdfund, develop (in collaboration with game development professionals) and publish a historical digital game based on the medieval records of Aberdeen.
