Professor of Pharmacology, University of Illinois Chicago

Xiaoping Du received medical degree from Suzhou Medical College, China, and PhD degree from the University of Sydney, Australia. After postdoc training at the Scripps Research Institute in San Diego, he joined the faculty of Department of Pharmacology, University of Illinois College of Medicine, and rises through the ranks to become a tenured Professor and Associate head. His research has been in areas of cell adhesion, platelet biology, thrombosis and vascular inflammation. His works has been published in quality scientific journals such as “Nature”, “Science”, and “Cell”. He is a member of editorial board of Blood and editorial board of ATVB, and served as a member of program committee for AHA Scientific Sessions and ATVB scientific sessions. He has received Special Recognition Award in Thrombosis from ATVB council, University Scholar Award and is a Distinguished Faculty of the University of Illinois College of Medicine.
