PhD Candidate in Language and Literacy, University of Cape Town

Though I did my masters course work in education administration, planning and social policy, I focused my dissertation on teacher professional development in the language and literacy development focusing on biliteracy development. I have been working since 2001 promoting bilingual education and biliteracy development working at Praesa under Dr Neville Alexander who was a proponent of multilingual education and working for The Nelson Mandela Institute for Education and Rural Development. I have been involved in materials development for use in bilingual classrooms, including children's literature, maths workbooks and science material.
