Yolanda Blasco Martel

I’m Associate Professor in Economic History at University of Barcelona (UB). My research focuses on banking and financial history in Spain. I’m very interested in Banking Origins in Latin America. I have published in refereed books and journals such as Oxford University Press, Rouledtge, Journal of Iberian and Latin American Economic History, Business History, as well as in various Spanish and other academic journals (Historia Social, Revista de Historia Industrial, Atlantic Studies, Tiempo&Economía, Ayer (provided special “Financial Elites” 2023)).
I’m coeditor, member of the Editorial Board of Investigaciones de Historia Económica/ Economic History Research.
Last Awards: Vicens Vives Prize 2017 awarded by the Spanish Association of Economic History (AEHE) to the best book on Economic History published in Spain: El Banco de Barcelona 1874-1920: Decadencia y quiebra (Ed. Marcial Pons), with C. Sudrià. And Catalan Economy Price 2019, awarded by the Societat Catalana de Economia.
