Senior lecturer, Western Sydney University

Dr Youqing Fan joined Western Sydney University in July 2015, and joined the Institute of Culture and Society in January 2018 as a school based member. Previously Youqing worked as an Assistant Professor in Chinese Business and Economy at The Nottingham University Ningbo China.

Youqing’s work is interdisciplinary in nature ranging across the academic fields of migration study and urban studies, human resource management and organisational behaviour, employment relations, supply chain management and sustainability, corporate social responsibility, as well as social policy and welfare. Recently, he started examining the residential segregation issue in metropolitan Sydney from the perspective of economic geography.

Youqing completed his PhD studies at Monash University in 2012 and he obtained Bachelor and Masters degrees in public management and social policy from Beijing Institute of Technology and Beijing Normal University respectively.
Youqing is currently involved in projects examining: (1) how corporate socially responsible behaviours are affected by institutional factors; (2) how migrant workers integrate themselves in the urban life and work; (3) how ethnic minority children compare with their majority counterparts in health status; and (4) how trade unions promote productivity in MNCs operating in China etc.
