Yuthika Girme, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Psychology Department at Simon Fraser University. Girme is the Director of the SECURE Lab researching Singlehood Experiences and Complexities Underlying Relationships. Girme has developed distinct research programs investigating singlehood and relationship processes that have important practical implications, including social support, attachment insecurities, emotion regulation, and social stigma. Girme has published over 30 empirical papers. She has given over 50 academic research talks at various academic institutions and conferences.

Girme is also a passionate teacher; she has won numerous teaching awards and hosts an educational podcast called Merlot with my Beau, which focuses on the complexities associated with singlehood experiences, close relationship dynamics, and personality traits. She is the recipient of a number of early career research awards, including the Society of Personality and Social Psychology: Relationship Research Interest Group Graduate Student Paper Award, Society of Experimental and Social Psychology Dissertation Award, Association of Psychological Science Rising Star Award, and the Society of Personality and Social Psychology: Caryl Rusbult Early Career Award.
