Stress reinforces good habits too

People under stress are likely to continue whichever habits they have previously developed, researchers at the University of Southern California have found.

A survey of students during exam time found that while those previously reliant on junk food continued in this manner, those who frequented the gym and preferred oatmeal stuck to their routines as well.

The researchers believe this contradicts the idea that pressure develops new bad habits and raises important questions about how to develop positive new ones.
